Each Friday I pick a song–new, old, borrowed, blue–that’s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.
This is “Move the Car” by Lagwagon:
I’ve been on a Lagwagon kick lately, and “Move the Car” has been in my head particularly. One thing I like about Lagwagon is the lyrics: they skate a line along introspection, particularity and generality that open them up for individual interpretation; you and she and he and I might all be singing along, but we’re probably all singing along for slightly different reasons, with slightly different meanings. Also, that bassline; those guitars; the drumming, the drumming, the drumming!
