Song of the Week: “Lemon Squeezing Daddy” by The Sultans

Each Friday I pick a song–new, old, borrowed, blue–that’s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.

This is “Lemon Squeezing Daddy” by The Sultans:

The Sultans — “Lemon Squeezing Daddy”

My friends Michael and Kara host a weekly jazz radio show on WRCU-FM in Hamilton, New York. Each week they have a different theme, and this week it was fruit–songs that mention fruit, to be a little more precise. This song missed the cut–mainly because it’s not jazz, I’d guess.  The Slim and Him Show airs Mondays 5pm-7pm Eastern Time on WRCU-FM, 90.1, and online for those of you (like me) who don’t live in the Chenango Valley. At 4pm you can listen to Slim’s Spins, where, usually, the same theme as the jazz show gets warmed up through R&B, folk and blues tunes. I always learn something when I’m listening, and it’s always entertaining.
