Each Friday I pick a song–new, old, borrowed, blue–that’s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.
This is “Paper Thin Walls” by Modest Mouse:
Modest Mouse — “Paper Thin Walls”
Modest Mouse has a large catalog of terrific songs. This one comes from the album, The Moon and Antarctica, which was released in the year 2000, which used to sound like the future, but is now the semi-distant past. The All Music Guide review (if you click the album link you’ll be taken to it) sells the album a bit short, I think; the middle section works for me in a way the reviewer says is dull. Either way, it’s worth listening to the album a few times to decide whether you agree with Heather Phares, or whether you agree with me.
