This is “Surfin’ Bird” by The Trashmen:

I’ve been reading stuff by Richard Meltzer this week, and so “Surfin’ Bird” is on my mind.  If you’d like to know the connection, get yourself a copy of The Aesthetics of Rock and start from the beginning (you can skip the introductions and read them later).  Meltzer wrote lyrics for Blue Oyster Cult, including this song. He didn’t write the lyrics to this song, though. The Cramps do a whale of a version of “Surfin’ Bird,” too.
