{"id":1152,"date":"2015-11-20T09:00:04","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T09:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/douglascowie.com\/?p=1152"},"modified":"2015-11-18T14:26:52","modified_gmt":"2015-11-18T14:26:52","slug":"song-of-the-week-makin-like-a-rug-by-eleventh-dream-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.douglascowie.net\/?p=1152","title":{"rendered":"Song of the Week: &#8220;Makin&#8217; Like a Rug&#8221; by Eleventh Dream Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"headline_area\">\u00a0Each Friday I pick a song\u2013new, old, borrowed, blue\u2013that\u2019s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.<\/div>\n<div class=\"headline_area\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"headline_area\">This is &#8220;Makin&#8217; Like a Rug&#8221; by Eleventh Dream Day:<\/div>\n<div class=\"headline_area\"><\/div>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/apfPJq9JwZc\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This week I discovered that the small and excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedyminusone.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Comedy Minus One<\/a> record label has released something called <em>New Moodio<\/em> by Eleventh Dream Day, a band that swirled around my head during my teenage years and into my twenties.\u00a0 Their 1993 album, <em>El Moodio<\/em>, is a real gem, so naturally, I wondered: what is <em>New Moodio<\/em>? A rerecording? a rerelease with some new tracks or demos or whatever? Neither of those, it turns out, but something much, much better.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedyminusone.com\/025.php\" target=\"_blank\">Follow this link to find out what<\/a>. After you&#8217;ve read that, take another listen to this excellent, excellent song and note once more the absurdity of the statement, &#8220;Women were not big that month.&#8221; Duh.
