Tuesday, 19 November 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address<\/a>. Though “Abie Baby” is, technically speaking, a birthday song, it does quote from Lincoln’s famous speech.\u00a0 My favorite tribute to the Gettysburg Address is Gary Larson’s<\/a>, but I like the way this song turns every single thing that it addresses about Lincoln into an irreverent, if not to say obnoxious, dig at Lincoln, or rather, at the mythic invention of Lincoln. Bang.<\/p>\n
