Each Friday I pick a song–new, old, borrowed, blue–that’s been on my mind and in my ears, and write a short post about it.

This is “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” by LCD Soundsystem:

I’m going to New York City tomorrow. I don’t think I’ve ever loved New York City, but it has brought me down, and maybe I sort of kind of have wanted to love it; anyway, I like New York City. I also like the way this LCD Soundsystem song develops like an unaddled “Perfect Day” before slamming itself clean through to a finish.
